where it attaches to the pump . It was profuse , but the crack was so fine that at first I thought it was the o ring which was a few millimeters away from where the leak actually was . I couldn't actually see the crack until I removed the line from the car and looked at it with a magnifying glass ! Turned out that the pump only had one out of three bolts still in that attach it to its bracket and the resultant shaking must have cracked the line . When I pulled this line out of 2 junked cars , both of them had bolts missing from pump to bracket . Obviously these bolts can work loose over time , but I also believe they are such a complete PITA to get in that someone replacing a pump or just replacing missing bolts may say 2 out of 3 is good enough . In actuality , not putting in all 3 bolts lets the pump wobble more and helps loosen the 1 or 2 bolts left . It took me a while to realize that the holes in the pump pulley are for accessing these bolts . Silly me , I thought they were for weight reduction or some other purpose as I struggled endlessly with tortured fingers to get those bolts in . Even using those holes in the pulley , its a PITA to get all 3 bolts in . You have to get the pulley holes to line up almost perfectly with the bolt holes in order to get the bolts in with a socket . Getting the first part of the bolts into the bolt hole is the hard part . Someone with tiny (and they'd have to be very small) hands might be able to get their fingers in far enough between the pulley and pump to get these bolts in easily without tricks , maybe not . Maybe only extremely long thin fingers . This job is hard to access from the top and seems inaccessible from underneath . Let us know your results . I'm curious to know if your leak is the same and if there are missing bolts . This would probably confirm something for all c900 owners to look out for just like bad one way valves that could kill a brake booster particularly on a turbo .
