Once opened, it glues itself shut when you put the lid back on! I've actually had the can deform and still not let go of the lid. That's why I always buy it in the smaller cans appropriate to the size of the jobs (the six-pack is a good deal). I also have a supply of small 4 ounce jars with plastic lids that I pour the leftovers into.
Another good trick is using a punch to put a couple of holes into the lid (like an old fashion beer can in the pre-fliptop days. Them I just cover the holes up with a small piece of duct tape to keep it sealed. Figured this out when I could not open nearly a half quart can. I'd just shake it up, an pour out what I needed (I know the instructions say to stir it not shake it, put I found no issues with this approach).
