Anyone with progressive rate springs out there?

Anyone out there running progressive springs? Did they help with that feeling that you're towing a wagon behind you over harsh bumps and irregularities?
I'm tired of my 900 riding like it was made by Radio Flyer. On smooth pavement I have no complaints but I live in Cincinnati and if you want smooth pavement you have to go to an airport runway. I have found some progressive rate springs on the web for the rear, but no info if they are for my SPG or S or base turbo.
Anyone know what the install height for the SPG is supposed to be?
Thanks
