Bummer. Wheel rubbing with 16's seems to be a crap shoot. I know people who have done nothing to their c900 and they have no issue (my son for ex.), and others have rubbing. The simplest fix would be to put some spacers beneath the rear springs (between spring and perch). Most people who have done this make the spacers (donuts) out of plastic cutting boards. I've cut them from semi truck mud flaps and that worked well too. You can get old mud flaps for free usually from big rig repair shops. The problem with spacers though, is that it raises the ride height of the car some--unless (like with most verts) your rear is sagging a bit. Then it will just bring it back up where it should be. You could also install air bags, but IIRC I heard they stiffen the ride as well as increasing the height. I run variable-rate rear springs on my Chrysler vert. Not because of rubbing, but because I sometimes tow with it. The more weight you add, the stiffer they get so that they don't over-compress and bottom out. That's another possible option, but I have no personal experience with them on a c900. The end-all-be-all guarantee would be to relocate the rear axle so that the wheel is centered properly. A fair amount of work that requires some fabbing.
