rust is a big problem... all cars in a northern climate need oil spray!

if the '98 was as well maintained as it sounds, it should be a good car. 1998 was the end of the ng 900 before it became the 9-3 + was a "transition year" in that it got some of the 9-3 iirc... but it is the older trionic setup that is less inclined to sludge than 2000+...

Judge Edo said it well... really depends what you're looking for... I've driven a lot of 9-3's and I like them a lot... downside is handling is not as good as a c900, but there are many upsides also... if you're not too concerned with the classic element + just want a reliable daily driver, the '98 is probably a good bet (and more bang for the buck).
