How hard was carpet removal?
Taking the carpet out and getting it back in was very easy. The carpet has a formed bendable backing. Wet and out of the car it doesn't lose shape.
Cleaning: When it's still dry clean with acetone. Cleans and readies carpet for dye. Wash out carpet next day after acetone is dry. No need for soap. Dry, Dye, Brush, Re-dye, Dry, Brush. The dye was from world upholstery in Ca. Color is pewter 2. A shade darker would probably be a closer match.
Did you use leather/vinyl dye on console? Console was removed, sanded, and painted with Classic Bond, Skid Mark black, #2951. A flat high bond plastic paint. The console were very easy to sand and I found this color a perfect match. I didn't remove the hand brake cover to repaint it. It looks exact.
The leather wheel was harder. I sanded it with Scotch bright pads and sand paper, 800 grit, It took a few passes to remove all old clear coat. The one spot I gave up on looks bad. The Leatherqui kit was great and I have more than enough to do the shift boot and every black leather thing in my house.

I call it 88 3dr because that's kind of what it called it self from the factory. "No stinking badges" the people who know, Know. If it's not a SPG it's fooled eveybody since day one. I have all service records for the car except the last year. I bought it off e$ay after looking at 70+ hi-res pictures. It's what I've wanted for years and she is bone stock, except for this little Red box it the front left corner of the engine bay.
I really can't thank the board enough and I'm truly sorry to what I've done to the continuum. I'm going to try to include a newly lighted cabin picture. I gotta tell ya, a little light in our cars goes a long way. Best to you all.
