In general a fuel injection computer can compensate about 15-20% - if you use a slightly larger or slightly smaller injector, chances are the computer can figure it out. Doing so is part of its daily routine, as caused normally by age or environmental conditions. Once you get outside that range, the computer can't trim enough and you'll end up with overage or underage.
To some degree, you have to be aware of the injector duty cycle and fuel map - on turbos, for example, at WOT the injector is very close to 100% duty cycle and it's a fixed map, so if you put in a massively oversized injector you will be running rich since the computer automatically ramps up and stops trimming. If you put in a massively undersized injector it simply will not be able to provide enough fuel since 100% duty cycle on a smaller injector is less fuel than 100% duty cycle on a larger injector.
I'm not sure why this is really important, though - the stock injectors for a 2.1l are perfectly matched to that engine. A bigger injector won't make you go faster. You need more air for that. If you find a way to do that, and the result of that creates lean running then you'll have to look into larger injectors. But, honestly, there isn't really anything you can do to a 2.1l short of forced induction to push it beyond the capabilities of the factory injectors. That's true for virtually every NA motor in the marketplace. (Turbos, OTOH, give you the ability to dramatically change fuel requirements with vacuum hoses or computer programs.)
