I'd replaced my Bougicords with Bosch on my C900 (in about '97, so YMMV 15 years later...)
When I went back in some time later to check the plugs the cord end pulled off the first cable, leaving me with the cord in my hand and the socket on the spark plug.
Yes, I know best to not pull a cable by the cord, but it was tough to get down to the cord end on a hot engine.
I was more careful with the second one, but never trusted them (and Bosch in general - now I scrutinize all parts regardless of brand with a fair eye) thereafter. The old Bougicords went back on just to get the car back on the road, and I think they stayed on until ~'04.
(I also remember learning that you could diagnose a misfire by seeing spark jump at night to the head/heatshield - and that getting near those cables whilst leaned up against a wet fender was a _memorably_ bad idea!)
