Seeing that you just got it, i would drain the trans oil, and refill with good old 10/30w engine oil. If what is in there is really bad, maybe do this twice. You most likely need to pull the diff cover to do this (no drain plug?), and there is a filter of sorts on the cover for you to clean. If nothing else, you will make the transmission a little happier. You may even fix the problem.
