Hauling with a Tow Dolly

help. Anyone have any experience hauling a classic 900 (mine is a convertible with tow dolly. I'm going from St Pete Florida to Saratoga Springs (upstate NY). At U-haul it is less that half the price of 4 wheel drive on trailer. It's approx 1,400 miles. I'm pulling with 2009 Nissan Frontier crew cab, 6 ft bed, rated to pull 6,800 lbs. I've pulled all kinds of utility and campers, but never used a tow dolly. Anyone have experience with this setup? The front wheels would be on the dolly, so the rear wheels would free wheel in neutral. It's a 5 speed manual Saab. Any possible harm to the Saab other that normal road wear? Any comments or suggestions are welcome.
Thanks, Gene
