Well I'll be a monkey's uncle - the rubber hose closest to the engine had popped off - it appeared to be connected but when I was feeling around it slid to the side and revealed that there was no connection at all!

I guess the BIGGER question is the integrity of my motor mounts and how much wiggling is going on. That has me concerned to say the least. Other than the two motor mounts parallel to the front shock mounts, is there another load bearing contact for the engine assembly closer to the front that I can't see?
Obviously this is a Saab noob asking these questions and there's no forgiveness necessary for offering up the basic info. Again, thank you guys.
