I just bumped into someone on Saturday... Posted by Snowmobile [Email] (#686) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Snowmobile) on Mon, 9 Jul 2012 08:04:33 In Reply to: Exactly, No Snaab, Sun, 8 Jul 2012 13:14:37 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
came up to me in a parking lot: "nice car!" and went on to ask a bunch of questions about how they are to own, maintain, local indy etc. He loves the shape of the c900 and though he had never owned a Saab, he was thinking of buying one, I suppose as a bit of a hobbyist. I gave him a few buying tips and warned him that once he was hooked he would have trouble driving other cars...
I'm not sure about the prices though. There are at least 3 verts in and around here that are in the 2-3k range and one at $6k (ironically the cheaper ones were turbo manuals, and the $6K was a NA/automatic - go figure). The verts are often better taken care of 2nd cars vs the 3 or 4 doors that more often got used up. I can definitely see paying $10k for a minty low miles SPG, simply because there are so few (any?) left.
I also think a "new Saab" (if ever there will be one) would be wise to cache in on the appeal of the c900 stylistically in a new product release. It is an iconic shape, much like the 911.
