Kurt - to remove vent, use a thin flat screwdriver on the flat part of the vent (top) and push downward while using your fingers to pull it out from the top against the pivot at bottom. When reinstalling, you may want to install a rubber o ring if missing from your car to keep the vent snug. Install o ring at bottom pivot. You can get one from any hardware store in the plumbing section. Properly installed, you won't see it. Good luck.
