Another Inner Driver question

So I got the passenger side one done up right. I had not lined it up with the TOP labeled indentation at the top. Did it right this time and everything went together very smoothly.

New question - the DRIVERS side inner driver housing also has an indentation, but it does not seem to have a label that says where the top is. Is it specific? I know the speedo cable comes in on the back side, so that has to be there, but it looks like on mine, the indentation is not at the top or bottom. It could very well be that the PO didnt know to line them up - that was how it was on the pass side. So the question is... does the drivers side inner driver housing indentation have to be at the top, same as the passenger side?
