I still have an '86 900T. Hadn't driven it in well over a year, but due to some scheduled maintenance (timing belt) on the VW TDI, I decided to be proactive and get it licensed and insured in case that took too long. Well it did, so now I'm driving the 900T. Dang, I love that car. I just smile all the time. This is what a car should be.
It's rattly, rusty, and clunky, but I feel like a king driving it. At only 286k miles, it's so smooth. Fantasies while driving it tend toward resolving the rattles, 27 year old paint, and oil leaks. I could drive this thing forever; some things are simply correct!
On the flip side, I have a 9-3 with a 2.3 and uber turbo, about 400HP that makes me smile too on the track pushing through 125mph, but the 900T is actually more interesting, and more civilized.
