Purchased an '85 900 for my son. This is a beauty, only 85,000 miles. I had to replace the front brake pads, I think they were originals. Anyway, my current issue is that there is an oil leak from the back of the motor. I thought it was the steering, looks to be comming from another source above the rack. The oil is very clear, unlike motor oil. The steering reservoir is full, brake reservoir is full. The oil is bitter to the taste. I am confused as to where this oil could be coming from. Could it be leaking from the A/C compressor?
