i have a couple of helpful ideas for future Posted by Saabu [Email] (#1133) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Saabu) on Fri, 23 Nov 2012 06:27:30 In Reply to: Re: Clutch etc replacement, SaabStalker [Profile/Gallery] , Sun, 18 Nov 2012 01:33:05 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
i turn motor counter clockwise using crowbar levered on large bolt head holding engine cover plate to engine. i turn it until one of the dowel pins is at about 1 o clock (adjust accordingly ). i assemble clutch components and place pressure plate onto that first dowel pin. that in itself is half the battle cause it gives you extra clearance right away. then i swing the components to the left and onto the other 2 pins.
this vert i swapped the tranny into this fall - the flywheel did not have any dowel pins at all! that was the easiest clutch job i've ever done!!!! honestly, who needs those pins if 6 bolts are holding it onto the flywheel?
