In 2007, at the Jubilee in Trollhättan, they had a warehouse full of spare parts, and in some were pallet loads of catalytic converter "test" pipes, presumably used back in the day when US cars had to be run on leaded fuel in EU when on the "European Delivery" program. I forget the name, but there was a company that was buying up surplus spare parts from Saab, like pallets of 99 front fenders, new H-motor valve covers, etc. Somebody in Sweden has them.

You might do well reaching out to Saab clubs in Europe. The German club and the Swedish clubs, in particular. Also ANA Bil in Trollhättan. They were the "local" Saab dealership, and, if I recall correctly, had something to do with the spare parts buying.

For a C900, all you need is a pipe with the right flanges, or even a straight pipe might work if you cut off the catalyst flanges. But I have no idea if that - or the "test" pipe - would pass your TUV inspection.

Does the 8v non-turbo, non-cat exhaust have a resonator where the catalyst goes? I can't remember...

As I recall, the flanges would have been 3-bolt for non-turbos, except the 2.1 liter, and 4-bolt for the turbos and 2.1 liter. That exhaust pretty much stayed the same after 1986, except for the motor variations.
