I assume you are referring to item #4 on this diagram (part no. 69 45 174). I'm guessing it is patch, patch, patch as best you can. To replace the whole thing would be an ordeal of monumental proportion (both cutting a good one out at a junkyard, and then installing it). Although it looks like you could just cut out the beam itself from a junker and weld it to the wings that go back beneath the engine. Probably can scavenge the part and replace it in yours without removing any more than the Front Radiator support. Let me know if you need an exploded diagram of that assembly.

If it is item #3 or #57 that might not be so bad: item #3's Front Center Plate PartNo : 8274383 and item #57's is Beam - PartNo : 9230079. Look's like you can also buy the motor mount bracket (if any of this is still available - it's part no. 69 25 515.
