Fixes:
1) Cargo springs in the rear to level the car out - looks much better and eliminated most of the rubbing from my 16" aeros.
2) relocating the battery from the passenger side to the driver's side (did this after adding a front-mounted intercooler)in anticipation of installing a 3-inch exhaust (still patiently waiting for the install in the parts shed). The heat shield is a joke. I was killing a brand new battery every couple of years from the heat of the exhaust manifold.
3) Front-mounted intercooler. The stock intercooler is so tiny as to be next to useless. An FMIC really unclutters the area behind the radiator. I first went with a side mounted, adequately sized SMIC from a Mitusubishi talon that I had modified to fit in the same spot as the stock SMIC. That was night and day. Later, when I found a deal on a FMIC on Fleabay, that install was night and day over the SMIC - more like a total eclipse (very bad Mitsy pun in there).
Favorite Upgrades:
1) AIM (mine is home-made) - by far the best single thing I did to improve the response of the turbo, coupled with the resistor mod and tweaking the APC.
2) Red-top injectors and Jak Stoll fueling chip. Adding power to the smoothness obtained by #1 above.
3) Gauges. Nice to know what the hell is going on. Particularly the volts gauge. Installed that after having an alternator die and the idot light on the dash providing me with virtually no warning while on a road trip 3 hours from home.
4) Cosmetically, adding SPG panels to the vert. Love the aggressive feel it connotes.
5) Most recently, brand new Saabstuff leather upholstery, matched with a custom color match dye job from Leatherworld Technologies. A lot of new found interior luxuriousness for about $2K. Really like sitting in the car now. Much more satisfying than a paint job (that'll have its day too)
