get a Garret T3 from 1988 or later, it's a direct swap with the TE05-12B you have.
would replace the upper, at a minimum, Arm bushing and use stock and NOT poly, those see to wear out very quickly.
if you do the steering rack, and I would as it's about 100x easier now, look closely at the tie rod ends. Ball joints and wheel bearings can be done at anytime. look closely at the lines to and from.
replace all the radiator hoses, at a minimum the lower rad hose (has the T to the turbo) and the one on the head next to the temp sender, it's a bugger to get to later.
The left side hydro motor mount can NOT be replace with engine in the car, so do it. the right side can with some work, the front can with more work.
the shift shaft coupler is often a failure point. if you have the original version (round like a slice of a "C" battery) those fail less than the version 2 (bow tie with two nuts on each side) but they can fail. it's nearly impossible to get the "tapered pin" out when engine/trans installed so now is better, you can also replace the rubber boot there...
AND, with the trans out, and maybe help from a buddy, you can put oil in the trans, shake it around, and drain it out. and then remove the front and rear covers and drain from both ends too... put back and then refill with your choice of fluid
I am sure there is something more but that is what I can think of now.
