Rough idle & chk engine light...

Good morning! When I started my '93 900 Conv. a few weeks ago, it fired up, then the idle immediately dropped and killed it. Re-starting, I noticed that the idle was searching, when it drops I can keep it going by goosing the gas. Also the check engine light is now on. The one thing I've tried is removing and thoroughly cleaning the AIC, nothing better. I'm a novice do-it-yourselfer, but not afraid to give it a shot, so would appreciate any advice or thoughts since where I live now has no Saab specific mechanics. Thanks all!
