Other possibilities:
Old catalytic converter - mpg will go down if it becomes clogged (usually because you are running rich as is the case with some of us with performance mods)
Also, if you have a convertible, 25 mpg is pretty good and you should not be comparing your mileage with the hardtop folks without factoring what having the top down does to your mileage. I feel I keep my vert running pretty well, and have a lot of performance mods. I typically get about 23-24 mpg commuting around town (put my foot into it a lot), get about 25-26 mpg on the highway at a steady 75 mph, and recently got 30-31 mpg on a 200 mile highway trip where I had the top up (it was raining). I've gotten as high as 34 mpg with the top up on state highways where I was going slower at 55-65.
