If you are just working with skins, no. If you have the whole seat that you can swap parts off, you can make it work, but it's not the most elegant solution. The sides of the earlier seat base skins are shallower on earlier cars and are covered with plastic trim. Also the side panels on the seat backs are shorter. You will end up with an exposed area if you try to fit them. When I put '89 seats in my '92 I had to make a hodgepodge of trim from both seats to make it work.

In the pic, you can see the lower seat trim and the height of the side of the seat base skin next to the center console. Also, the outer side of the driver's seat, you can see how short the side panel is on the seat back. I had to use a piece of the side trim from the '89 (tan) along with the side trim from the '92 (black) to cover the gap. It's partially hidden behind the seat belt thingus.
