Funny story, 5 years ago or so I was talking to a lady in our receiving department when I found out she drove a late 80s 900 4 door. Fast forward to yesterday. There is a small salvage yard out in the middle of nowhere on one of the back roads by my house. I stopped in to see if he had any old Saabs, turned out he has 2. The old man that owns it bought her car after he witness her rear end a truck! We made a deal since the front end is pretty crunched that I could bring it to my house, strip what ever I want from it then bring the shell back to him for scrap. I put a couple gallons of gas in it and a fresh battery and drove it home! Its an automatic that seems to shift fine. He has another 900 4 door up there that is an 8 valve base model. The car is cherry, he said he bought it from a lady that is in her 90s but never got a title with it. Anyway I started stripping it yesterday from the back to the front. I am going to pull all of the suspension etc. Does anyone know if the fuel pump from an 89 will fit my 1986? I know they are different types but Im not sure if that matters. The parts car is a 16v so Im going to pull some parts off the engine too before giving what’s left back to him to scrap. The interior is in very good shape, the seats are a nice dark gray. Im going to put them on Ebay to try and recover some of what I paid for the parts car! Anyway, just thought Id share what Ive been up to all weekend…
