Believe it or not, you can actually fit a stock 16v intercooler in there, with the oil cooler. It doesn't require much hassle. That is what I did at first! An alternative would be to retrofit a 16v oil cooler too, and while not difficult it does require drilling some new holes and then piecing together some oil cooler lines. You could also pick up a B&M (etc.) oil cooler and mount it in front of the radiator. That also requires hacking up some lines, but is also not difficult. :) When our Lemons car took some damage, we had to replace the stock oil cooler with whatever they had at Kragen - it worked great. Given the choice of B&M (Setrab, Mocal, whatever) or Kragen Special, I'd take the former... but really, unless you are hammering on the car in the worst possible weather, *what* oil cooler is less critical than *an* oil cooler. Modern quality oil is WAY better than 1980 quality oil. ;)
