Stock looks good, but Posted by RS [Email] (#15) [Profile/Gallery] (more from RS) on Tue, 25 Jun 2013 18:41:30 In Reply to: get new stuff, newbie, Mon, 24 Jun 2013 18:41:40 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
newer radios have more features and, to my ears, better reception and sound. Not McIntosh good, but better than the OEM.
This is the 4th 900 I had that had a stock Clarion radio. Got tired of issues from cracked cold solder joints in that unit and replaced it with a used Blaupunkt. That was good. I got Crutchfield harness adaptors. Gotta respect what you're putting the head unit into.
About 6 years ago, replaced that with a Sony to play CDs and have a USB port.
The USB port has been great. With 16 gig of tunes on a thumb drive and none of the issues that come with CDs and cassettes, this latest head unit has been great. Next head unit I get will just have SD and USB ports along with the radio. (I may be a considered a Luddite having a quarter century-old car as my daily driver, but *that's* the way to carry tunes around.)
I kept the EQ 'cause it still looks good.
