Sounds like your '91 has tighter clearances on the oil pump than the SPG but the SPG had tighter rod & main bearings.
On my SPG, pressure is around 20 at idle when fully warmed up and over 60 at 3k RPM
That said .... I wonder how accurate automotive senders and gauges are and how sensitive they are to voltage fluctuations. Bets are that accuracy and repeatability on these VDO gauges & senders isn't anywhere near the 0.25% on the instruments I specify for work.
The best oil pressure gauge I ever had was on a '54 Studebaker coupe - it had a capillary tube that ran from the dash to the back of the engine; none of those dang electrons. One time I though that the rear seal blew out. Turned out that the copper capillary tube had fatigued and broke at the connection to the engine. Discovered that after I dropped the oil pan, replaced the seal, and it *still* leaked.
