Dan,
sixty watts are:
- one headlight
- the cabin blower at the second speed
- one rear lights cluster fully on (excluding rear fogs)
- and so on, and on
So are you sure about those five amps quoted? Nevertheless, you were on the right track when you started pulling out the fuses in order to find the circuit which was (and still is) eating your battery. Just don't forget about three things:
- ABS fuse-box
- secondary fuse-box under the rear seat
- SRS fuse (should your baby be SRS'd) which will toggle your SRS indicator permanently on if you remove it; you will have to find a shop with TechII tool (and C900 compatible firmware inside) and SRS-to-TechII adapter or Saab SRS tool and pay them to reset your SRS ECU and turn off that SRS indicator off.
Actually, the electric things are all quite simple. You'll never ever be frightened with any electric gremlin after you have learned the following three electric essentials, repeat after me:
current is proportional to voltage and inverse proportional to resistance of the circuit
and voltage is a difference of potentials
and there must be a conductor between the potentials to make the current flow.
The same in a short form:
I=U/R
U=dP (=P2-P1)
Good luck,
Zig
