Possibly a battery/charging system issue. The battery gets too low to start properly when it sits but after it has run a bit the battery is temporarily re-charged. This is not an issue with the starter motor as much as it is with the injection system. EFI does not tolerate low voltage, even just a couple of volts can prevent the fuel system from operating. Most common cause is loose, dirty or corroded connections of the high current cables. Next is a crapped out battery and then bad connections in the individual circuits. Check the black ground wires that are attached near the front lifting eye/thermostat housing. If those grounds are weak the EFI will not work well (or at all). The battery may be going dead as a result of a short to ground somewhere too. Charge the battery fully (if it will fully charge) and then park the car and disconnect the battery. Next day reconnect the battery and see if it starts. If so then you know where to look for the problem (see first sentence above).
