When you say "selector shaft bushing" you mean the white plastic bushing (part #87 11 608) that's in the transmission where the selector shaft pokes out and there is a small oil seal (#83 44 335) over the bushing (right?). Just FYI, replacing that seal with the unit in the car is a PIA (even with the special tool) and I've only seen probably one or two of those bushings that needed replacement in hundreds of these transmissions. Just suggesting that you should probably leave it alone UNLESS the seal is leaking (then just replace the seal). And if you're gonna do it, then do it while the shift housing is out of the car so you can use a long pipe on top of the special tool, projecting into the passenger compartment, to drive the seal in and DO NOT drive it in too far, just until it's seated or you will pinch the bushing.
