Clutch tool question

My '93S, recently purchased, has a clutch slave failure. I confirmed this on disassembly by tracking the leak source, and it was quite obvious.
I have the spacer ring tool but am not sure if it is the right one (there used to be two of them), and I also have the big Saab pry tool to use in the event of failed hydraulics, but not used it in so long (I have been in a 9000 for some time) that I forgot how to install it.
Should the pry tool be between the bellows and the release bearing, or between release bearing and clutch "fingers"? My spacer ring is not seating deep enough but I am not sure how to orient the tool.
Thx!
