light is getting thrown around around the main light area.
In the truck sample pic at the bottom of your linked page, it shows a halogen on the left. Oval beam, just a little "wasted" light around it. On the LED side, yes, there is a big circle of light. But, there is also an enormous amount of light surrounding that bright spot.
In low light conditions, like fog, that might be like driving with your high beams on. I don't know this, I haven't tried them, but that was my first thought.
Anyone have thoughts on that?
