I've had this happen a few times. For me it is always the distributor cap and rotor getting wet.
Rough running after wash is usually the injector connectors. Those early AMP/Bosch "Junior Timers" (this is the real name, not kidding) do not have silicone seals and the rubber covers have no bellows on them so they split and allow water in. Silicone grease helps a lot to keep them dry.
