I'm impressed it took "only" 16 hours! If I had the equipment & skills I doubt it would have been finished that quickly.

More like a week as I go along and see other stuff that could be good to do at the same time. "Oh, I'll de-rust & paint the battery tray. Oh, I'll de-rust & paint frame rails, and oil cooler brackets, and.. and.. etc.

Looks like you might have a unique winter business opportunity for other rust-belt zone C900 drivers! And after the economies of scale kick in and you have the process all supplied & stocked, you'll be down to 3 hours each to make 'em!

Congratulations on fixing a serious problem with your car and availing one more to stay on the roads doing it's job and joy!
