We made custom lines using a special tool that forms a double layered geometry which mates perfectly in the connection. The forming tool is a professional brand that was about $300. It takes a matter of seconds to make the nipple -- it is not a simple flaring tool though. You would use this to make an end that you've slid a ferrule nut over, and then join with a union.
Maybe this is over the top for what you're doing, but we had to fabricate lines for the rear axle when we installed a late model axle in a 1981 chassis -- there are two lines to the rear axle brakes rather than one shared one for the ABS models. So, this might not be what you are looking for......
On another car, the line broke by the left passenger well, and it could have been repaired with a patch line and unions. I was lucky that we had a parts car that the line was intact and rust free, so it was installed rather than the line repaired. So, I have half of the body line from the front section of the car to the rear where it exits out the body to the flex line/ axle fitting. Is that what you are looking for??
