alternator broke.
Was driving along, radio lost power. Turned it back on, worked fine for a couple of blocks then shut off again. The ABS light came on at that point.
Try wiring an "extra" ground wire from your alternator to anything metal. A/C compressor bracket, ground point on body, something you know is touching metal.
I'm guessing it will run like new again! It often means that even though your alternator ground wire is attached, it's not connected. Usually a broken wire.
Let us know when you're zooming around again what it was!
Mark :-)
