89-900t will not start in below freezing temperatures Posted by Robster501 [Email] (#417) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Robster501) on Wed, 20 Nov 2013 13:28:24 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hello, I did a search on this, but didn't find much.
symptoms
After sitting overnight in below freezing temperatures, cranks and cranks, but will not catch
Sometimes will stumble for a second, but then nothing.
Pushing the gas peddle does not help at all. I can smell gas in the engine compartment after pumping the pedal
Starts and runs fine once the temperature outside warms up
In the last 10K put in
Fuel filter
bougicord wires(all except the one to the coil)
Used ECU
Cleaned radiator grounds and engine head grounds
In the last 15-20k
Ngk plugs( the ones recommended on here)
Bosch dist. rotor and cap
Possibly related, the car starts but stutters if sitting overnight in the rain in warm/cool weather.
Sounds like ignition related? I've read that it could be a relay on its way out? Maybe temperature sensor?
Any imput appreciated-Rob
