The second rebuilt unit (007) came from cardone and now I realize that the shaft is rotated 180 deg relative to the old distributor. I.e., the rotor is upside down when mounted (compared to the old).
Reading the posts on distributors, it seems the way to deal with this is to remove the offset "gear" part that sits on the shaft going into the engine and rotate that 180 deg.
How about simply put in the spark plug wires in a different way so that it comes out upside down?
Just a thought..
Thanks,
Per
