It is possible the passat tires were more expensive if it is a newer car with 16 or 17" wheels. I got a bit of a shock on that front with the 9-5 (everything is more expensive for the 9-5)... I paid close to $800 for Hakka R's for the 9-5 + mounting and balancing at my indy, and that was the best deal I could find online. But I'm in Canada so that's different. Just checking 185/65R15, set of 4, Hakka R is $650 before tax, studded 7 (not legal for me) is $800 before tax. Those prices are mounted. R's should be a good deal with R2 now released!
I really envy ZAAB... studs on a c900 are amazing!
