Thanks for your reply.
I've looked for vacuum leaks but haven't found any. The car idles well when it's cold, at around 900 rpm, which tells me it's not leaks because the car can hold that. It's only when the car warms up a bit more, and when the oxygen sensor is influencing the idle, that the hunting starts. So I'm wondering if it's the o2 sensor. By the way, there is preheater voltage. I was measuring the oxygen sensor's connector instead of the car's connector!
The idle hunting isn't nearly as bad as the other cases troubleshooted on the BB. Also the o2 sensor was replaced roughly 30,000 miles ago. So I'm not sure replacing it will dramatically increase the mileage, which in my case would be city mileage from 17 up to the low 20s, and 24 hwy mileage into the upper 20s. I understand that's where a '92 900 S should be.
I'm also considering just replacing the AMM. I have this slight surging with light throttle around 67 mph. Tune up components hasn't fixed it. New AMM might be the ticket and maybe the mileage would improve too!
