Steven, I believe you'll need to jumper somewhere the "neutral safety switch" wiring that keeps an automatic car from being started unless shifter is at P or N. The rig attaches on driver side of shifter housing, kind of an arc-shaped black box about 3/8" thick, several wires, not sure where they come from or what's what.
Experienced pros may have posted on here what to do; do some searches. Or one will chime in.
Good luck, it's a question I have had too, and one I haven't bumped into the answer for yet.
