I read the Faq on Basic Idle Adjustment as my Saab idles at around 1400 rpm. First of all the Faq says it is for the cars with a "Gold" AIC. Mine isn't Gold is that so is the Faq model specific? I grounded the "green with red stripe" connector wire with the Saab idling.It didn't stall. if anything the idle went up from 1400 to 1500 rpm whenI disconnected the wire?
Then I removed the connector at the throttle switch and put the jump wire on # 1&2. This part I'm not to clear on"loosen the throttle switch and make sure it will rotate" Do they mean loosen the 7mm bolts on either side of the black box switch? Dosnt look like it would rotate....maybe be raised up or down about 1/2" Dosnt say to move the switch up or down?
I loosened the throttle adj screw.Apparently you turn the screw clockwise to raise the idle so I backed the screw counter lock wise but couldn't reduce the idle at all!....still idles at 1400? I smacked the AIC with no change. Is the AIC shot or am I doing the test wrong?
