D-Jetronic injection time is based on intake manifold pressure. So any vacuum leaks on intake side of engine would cause big problems. Sounds like you're having a flooding problem. The .PDF link below should help with D-Jetronic troubleshooting, even though it applies to a Porsche. Battery capacity to supply current is checked with a load test, usually done for free at an auto parts store.
