You might find that sourcing synchros rings is problematic. I tried to order them last year and couldn't get them. The Saabsite shows rings for the 85 but back ordered for the 91-94 boxes. A couple notes are: shift forks that are slightly bent can be bent back, if the countershaft is grooved a machine shop can cut a section off the notched end, weld it on the other end so you have fresh shaft for the cluster bearing to ride on, I've heard there are quite a few used reverse idler gears around for the early transmissions but not many for the 90's boxes. The only trans that was problem free in my many Saabs was a 83 8 valve non-turbo. It was still shifting fine after 300K. I think a trans that serves a turbo engine has to work a lot harder.
