Component Survival after 20 Years of Inactivity? Posted by Roger D [Email] (#1121) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Roger D) on Tue, 10 Jun 2014 11:53:46 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I found a one owner 89T that has been parked for about 20 years. The car has been outside in No. Cal's balmy climate. For some of it's time it was under an apartment carport. Car shows 30K on the clock which matches what I know of the car's history. It's available for parts picking. It was reportedly running at the time it was parked. Inside and under the hood looks relatively dry. I cracked one of the fuel lines and it was still under pressure! I'm interested in the fuel pump, window motors, AC compressor, steering rack, column and more. Are there certain components that die from disuse?
