My indi just quoted me ~ $900 for slave and kit Posted by CBS [Email] (#969) [Profile/Gallery] (more from CBS) on Fri, 13 Jun 2014 08:30:12 In Reply to: In fairness, BobN, Fri, 13 Jun 2014 08:07:58 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
This includes the slave, pilot bearing, seals, release bearing, pressure plate, clutch disc, and resurfacing the flywheel. I can get the clutch slave kit from sponsor for $273 but want to upgrade to OEM slave part so getting all those parts independently would be $296. I think my indi mentioned it was "almost $600 in parts alone" -- not sure where he's getting his parts?. I would really like to do this job myself, but I've never even seen a clutch job done before -- though replacing the master and hydrolic hose was easy enough. What would people do in my case -- I know some people can do this job in the dark, but I don't like the idea of just me and the Bently? I'm thinking about ordering the parts myself and then having indi install. Update: just called indi and he won't install with my parts due to having to pay his guys and getting the premium on his parts. So I guess I'm going to call around to other mechanics with the "got the parts, but realized it's too difficult for me to install myself" story. What would you do?
