Just wanted to share that I connected with Russ and RogerD on Saturday. Totally worth the 5 hour drive. They were both extraordinarily generous with their time. I learned a lot, and helped them help me (mostly Russ did the work for sure) fix so many things. From 8:30am to 8pm, using parts from Russ's parts car, we got these things done: Replaced my old raggedy black top with a clean tan top and new mechanism. Replaced the vinyl cover that lines the well that the top folds into. Replaced the brackets that the top fastens to (including shiny new sun visors). Replaced the hydraulic motor for the top. Replaced the servo that controls the trunk latch. Installed a correct air filter and canister. Lots of little adjustments in the engine of things I had zero knowledge of. So many things. It was like having a pit crew for a day! Plus, RogerD's diligence in collecting old Saab keys paid off for me, and after trying 20 of them I found one to replace the door/trunk key that the PO had lost. I'm really grateful...thanks so much guys! My $800 Saab 900TC is shaping up very, very nicely...it was a blast to drive it home through the mountains. Great community we have here :)
