Rod, sorry I can't be of any help cauz I had the exact same issue. I have NO idea how this new one is supposed to mount to the original plate in the distributor. I have done a search and found some stuff but nobody addressing it specifically, though I could have easily missed it. I will say that you should be weary that your hall sensor is at fault. Don't overlook the fuel pump. That was my problem. The original pump on my 87 T lost pressure over time and very slowly caused the car to die when hot. Check your fuel pressure and make sure it increases with revs...a tell-tale sign it's not working properly.
