and bottom hose is discharge hose to condenser in front of radiator. Connections are marked with "S" for suction and "D" for discharge. Ports for connecting HVAC gauges are similarly marked "D" and "S". However, the top port is "D" and bottom port is "S", just the reverse of hose connections. "D" port is the high pressure port, and "S" port is the low pressure port, through which one adds oil, dye, and your refrigerant of choice. All this is while looking at back of compressor, not the pulley front side. Let everyone know how the es12 works out for you.
